Jim Ross and Paul Heyman then welcome us to the show which is being broadcast from WCW’s former capital city and mention we’ll have the first interpromtional match tonight, pitting The Undertaker against WCW’s Lance Storm and Mike Awesome in a handicap match. Looks like the bookers finally realized WCW vs. WCW matches weren’t the way to go with this angle. Jim Ross and Paul Heyman welcome us and remind us that we’re just six days away from King of the Ring, and as such the four quarterinal matches for the KOTR tournament will all take place tonight. Also tonight The Dudley Boyz will challenge Chris Benoit & Chris Jericho for the Tag Team Championships. Yet we see a graphic showing a six-man tag with Benoit, Jericho and Spike against the Dudleys and Steve Austin? JR also mentions that earlier he recieved a letter via courier saying we will meet the Undertaker’s wife tonight, which he finds strange since Taker isn’t scheduled to be on the show tonight.
